Stupid internet pet peeves.

actually, if this forum has a wish list, is it possible when you quote to just get the last thing said, not the whole list of quotes previous?

That would make me happy, too. Having the quote not be so small font-wise would be cool, too..

It's not a Christian thing that I am aware of. It's more Jewish. Many of those of Jewish faith believe it is disrespectful to write out God.

P.S. nice sig embarrased0

I thought you might enjoy the sig :)

I forgot, there is the Jewish thing about leaving the vowels out, which is why YHVH became both Yahweh and Jehovah, depending on who you speak to....even though, much like Tude, I've mainly seen Christians do the G-d thing, it probably stems from the Judaic practice.

I love speculating on things :)

Smileys don't bug me....

Probably what pisses me off the most is the things people feel safe to say on the net that they would never say in real life (without having someone remove their front teeth with their fist....). Several posters on HC are cases in point....

I agree completely. Then they say "it's just the internet" and perhaps post the "internets=serious business" crap.

The internet is a means of communication. If you wouldn't say it over the phone, or in person, don't say it over the net.

I had a moment with someone over at Live Ruckus that pretty much ruined that forum for me because of something like that. There's no reason for any of it.

I swear, there can't be anything more pathetic in the world than an internet bully.

How stupid is that.

I had the misfortune of seeing all that transpired. I'll roll through the front page of topics on occasion, problem is, it got too OJ, and I never was an OJ kind of guy.

People who don't use any punctuation, wrong punctuation, all caps or all lowercase letters. Not correcting misspellings when your browser underlines them in red.

I do something myself that is one of my pet peeves...

doing this "..." after every sentence.

facepalm0
uh oh....guilty of a couple of those....

I didn't think anyone was around except for Leonard, the "person" and Bucky later on...that was the first and only time I've ever lost my temper over something online.

It really isn't even close to being about music and while GJ and this place aren't exactly "on topic" we aren't very "gonzo" and 'outlaw". I guess you're right about the "oj"-ness...

When i started over there, the first year or so i just hung out in EG, but there is only so many conversations about Squier 51's and balsa wood and spit Music that you can have. Every time an interesting topic got started, it was bumped to GJ, so eventually i just went over there too. But it just got tedious eventually.

I think anything would get that way after a while, though...theres only so much to talk about after a while.

Nah...I did this quite a bit. I just think that without fresh faces any forum can get stale. The risk is that the new faces don't bring entertainment to the table...they might bring havoc instead...

Yep. I hope some of your guests and lurkers chime in eventually, new blood is always good.

We've been having a new sign-up every day or two...hopefully those folks will start posting...
