Strings and picks?

I usually use D’Addario light 12-string guitar strings; my six-string has the Martin SP's on it. I use a plastic thumb pick and an Alaska finger pick.

I've been happy with WebStrings, otherwise I tend to get what's on sale and typically use 10-46's. Picks, however, are a different story. Gotta go with the red.

Electric Strings are GHS Boomers - normally 10-46. On a couple of other guitars it is 11-52.

I'm pretty committed to D'Addario at this point. I've tried a lot of other strings over the years, but keep coming back to them.

Picks are my Tortex-style pointed jumbo Jazz III and Fender Thin Celluloid, both with The Beard graphic. I also have a couple of V-Picks I like for certain things.

I found these Dava control picks and I can't get enough of them. Super easy to go from a looser strumming feel to a stiffer lead feel.



For strings I usually use Fender bullet 9's. Super cheap around here and they last me quite a while.

I switch between a few different Dava picks. The one pictured is their Delrin "Grip Tip" (which also has nylon and gel tip versions), Jazz3 sized versions of those, a steel-tipped "Rock Control" and the original "Control" that Alex posted. I don't care too much about the "multi-gauge" aspect (though it is pretty cool), it's just that they have the best grip I've come across. Rarely ever slip out of my hand, or hell, move unintentionally.

I always get the D'Addario EXL110s. Have tried a couple other types of string, but always come back.

For picks I've been using the Dunlop Nylon .88s for-e-ver.

d'Addario XL Nickle Wound strings 10 - 46 for years, though I just got a free set of Dunlops and I'm going to give those a try this week.

For a pick I made the switch to the Dunlop Jazz III about 8 months ago and really like them. It took awhile to get used to the stiffer pick but I really like it now. It is also forcing me to use a 'looser' grip on the pick. I use these for electric guitar playing.

But for acoustic playing it is always the Fender celluloid medium picks. Nothing else feels right to me.

Picks.... it's all about the Tusq!!!

Ever since I got my samples... I bought a 72 pack and love love LOVE them. I even use them on my electrics because I like the way the guitar sounds when the pick hits the strings. All my old picks sound dead and muted in comparison.

Strings... I'm all about the D'Addarios. I use the 10-52's on my electrics and the phosphor bronze on my Taylor.

D'Addario EXL110s and phosphor bronze for me.

I use the grey dunlops but and switching to Ultex soon as I wear out the Dunlops. But for acoustic I love the fender celluloid lights even though they break really easily.
