Just curious, I've always wound the thicker strings two times round the post and maybe 4 or 5 times on the thinner strings. I noticed that my Charvel had ONE wind round the post on all strings when it came out of the box..perfectly stable, probably due to the locking nut anyway...but was curious how you guys did this and for what reasons?
I know that Chris Kinman (of Kinman pickups) states that he always sets up his non-locking Strats with one wind round the posts too on ALL strings...on the basis that more winds creates more un-stability.
Thoughts?

..yeah, I started to do the "one wind" thing on my Strat and got scared quite quickly

I am ashamed.
