Started some mods to my Les Paul Custom (warning, pics)

Hey y'all! I'm new on the block... thought I'd start off with some pictures of a mod I've been planning for quite a while.

I've been amassing parts for a few months, and decided it was time to start.
Here she was the day I got her (a year and half ago, or so). It looks great here, but by now the metal hardware looks like butt, as gold hardware tends to do after lots of hard playing.

So the parts list thusfar is... Gibson Tuners (donated by a faded V), Gibson Tailpiece, Gibson 57 Classic Plus in the bridge, a Burstbucker 2 (bridge model) in the neck, Dunlop straplocks, mystery bridge, Fender amp knobs from a 77 Twin, a rewire with GFS components. I also did a full fret level and dress.

I've been kind of broke lately, trying to build a pedalboard and PA system for my band, so all that stuff was living in my parts box. The next step is to buy a chrome switch, some screws, 4 CTS pots, new caps, a new bridge+studs, and either a whole new stoptail with studs or just the studs, haven't decided yet. Anyway, onto pictures (sorry for cell pics, it's all I have here at school)!

Damn. The chrome looks great on there.
New pots will make a huge difference. Get good tone caps while you are at it.

That's the plan!

My SG Faded needs a full rewire, as does my Firebird. So when I can afford it, I'll go on a wiring frenzy, all CTS and high quality tone caps (not sure what kind yet).
 
Very nice! I've never liked Gold hardware because of how fast it usually deteriorates...

Yeah some people complain about Epiphones having tuning issues and stuff with the stock hardware. I never had any problems, other than the visual stuff.

One of my students has a Dot 335 Epiphone and the guitar is fine except for the fact that the hardware looks ridiculous....
 
No love for gold hardware here?!? I don't really care, one way or the other, but I kinda like it on my 1990 Les Paul Custom:

Maybe the higher end gold hardware holds up better... on my Epis it wear in really fast and gets pretty nasty. Or maybe my skin is more acidic or something.

Not knocking it, that LPC is sexy as hell.

No to much buddy. Lots of gigs coming up this and next week. Crazy busy and feels great. Get to do my first gig on bass too!

I'm still hanging onto HC by the tips of the fingers on my bad hand. The lack of traffic over there was really bringing me down, on top of all the UI problems.... so here I am.
