Star Wars Rogue One Teaser!

Looks good, and I'm sure it will be entertaining, but it seems to me like they really need to come up with a story line besides defeating the Empire's latest planet destroyer. In any case, I'm sure it will be a box office smash.

Agreed, but don't worry Disney are going to make a hundred SW flicks over the years to come, and only 90% of them will involve stopping the Empire's evil plans :thu:

Wait, what?

So this is separate and aside from the I-IX canon?

Like a whole other sub-plot series?

I didn't know they were doing anything like that. I thought I was a real nerd, but this is total news to me. WTF?

Whatever it is, it looks awesome!

They announced it not long after they announced the VII-IX release schedule.

This is between episodes 3 and 4. It's how they got the plans for Luke and company to blow up the first Death Star.
You see, that was the impression I took away from it, but not knowing there was a secondary series of films being made, it totally screwed with my head. I thought "oh, ok... so that's the agent who sacrificed themselves in order to get the plans to Leah, who then gives them to R2, to get to Obi-Wan".

And then I thought "WTF?! That doesn't make any sense, because it happened forty years before episode VII."

I was horribly confused, and still am.

So it's a "Tweener". A post-prequal-sequal?

Mind=Blown.

There's going to be a pile of individual characters movies/tv too. Han, Lando, Yoda, Boba etc. probably even another god damn Ewok movie eventually.

Han Solo at Star's End was a great book...

There are currently eight Star Wars films, a live action TV show, and an ongoing CGI tv show, in various stages of development. Not to mention whatever stuff is in just floating around in development hell. And an endless stream of comics and novels filling in background information that connects it all.

It will be interesting to see if Disney will do adult Star Wars stuff like they have with Marvel. A Netflix series about interspecies lesbian relationships within the the political class on Coruscant could be interesting.

Adult Star Wars you say? Been done.

That looks awesome. And the next stand alone is Han Solo's back story. Disney is doing this right.
