So tell me about the TC electronics ditto looper

I love mine. Its simple and does as advertised. I use it when I teach to make progressions for soloing or for students to play against. I also use it to practice with too. A good investment.
 
I like mine a lot. There's a lot of functionality packed away in it, so make sure you memorize the different tap and hold modes. Once you do thT, you're good to go. FWIW, the loop quality is great fidelity as well.

No option to run on battery. External power only.

I use it just for just laying down a rhythm and practicing solos. It's very easy to use for that.

That's true of almost all nano-sized pedals. It's how they get them so compact because they don't have to have a 9volt battery inside. Since most people use adapters these days, I appreciate the option so it saves space on the board.
 
Tempted to get one and then I realize that I don't need one. I tend to forgot that I already own a looper on my acoustic setup.

Noticed that, but I have more 9vdc adapters than pedals:thu:

I'll probably use it for the same purpose, at least initially.

One question for everyone. They say you can remove overdubs, but I'm assuming only the last one? Say you lay down 4 tracks, you cant remove #2 and leave 1/3/4 can you?

Also, any tips on timing for smooth loops? I'm sure practice will fix most glitches, but it would be weird with a timing glitch at the turnaround.

Only the first loop is critical to get the timing right. After that, hit the button a measure ahead of time and start playing when it's time. And you can kick out of the overdub anytime before the loop is over. If you play a solo line then continue into the loop the second time it still replays what you played in the first loop through of the overdub. Then you can play a harmony line in the second time around.
 
It's one of the coolest pieces of gear I've picked up this year. And this has been a GOOD gear year!
 
I was just about to start t thread about this. I've got one in the Amazon shopping cart for the wife to get me for X-mas...gotta see if she'll do it. Yes, I am pantless.
