So on Howie's recommendation I bought one of these...

I've wanted one of these for a while, and Howie gave it a pretty solid review so I got a v.3 used for a c-note and change last night on eBay. Will poast a more thorough review and possibly a clip when it arrives.

i won! i won! :bacon:

it's a really great modern distortion pedal. it can do the Mesa thing pretty well, but can also nail the DS1 sound if that's what you want. there's a shitload of gain on tap, but it can also be run very clean. probably the most versatile dirt pedal i own.

it's not on my board right now, but if you ask me to bring a guitar and a dirt pedal to jam with, i'm bringing the Tube Zone.

My current plan is to make a mini pedal board for times when I don't want to lug the mega-board around. Thanks for the idea Mark, I needed something to spend more money on.

I plan on getting a fuzz, possibly the Barber Trifecta, the TC Hall of Fame and a new pedal tuner to try, either the Polytune or Turbo Tuner. Maybe fit one more on there if I can think of something useful, but that's it. Keep it small and simple.

I was really considering one of those for a while but I was never convinced that as good as it is at what it does, what it does is what I wanted it to be.

HA!

I wouldn't know what to do with more distortion....

In fact with the electronic parts purchase I got to DS1's. One will be modded and the other will remain stock. The modded one are for my Frankenstein experiments. The funny part of it all is that there must be a new Mesa sound that I am not aware of. Being an owner of an Mark IIB, that sound is not the new Mesa sound I hear around.

I like my Hardwire HT2 tuner. I like the shiny on your pedal, too. Would look great next to my Noise Decimator pedal and I would have one of the shiniest pedal boards in town.

This is a really old picture of one of my pedalboard builds. The noise decimator is the shiny pedal on top. It would look good next to that overdrive.
