So I threw some sausages on the George Foreman the other night...

That would not really be fair to anyone who would need to follow me into one of your bathrooms....

... or fair to your septic....

... or the possible ground-water contamination....

Well, hopefully you have a mop and bucket to clean that hallucination up off the floor.

Yea, except I would get sidetracked looking at all the pretty colors and textures... Next thing you know, your barf would be talking to me, I would see God, and would have all the answers to the universe... Then I would forget all the answers, and even the question, so I would just go climb a tree... Unfortunately, there would still be a pile of barf...

OMG, I agree with Paulski and Paula!

I agree with Flamencology agreeing with Paulski and Paula.

I have a vegetarian cookbook written by the late Linda McCartney. It has some excellent recipes in it but for a vegetarian cookbook it is far from healthy. She used a ton of dairy in her cooking (cheese, cream, milk) but she has a bunch of recipes in in calling for TVP - including a TVP roast for holiday meals. If I want a roast I will make a roast, not form one from various plant parts. The cow the roast came from ate all veggies and transformed those veggies internally into delicious meat products. So really they ARE still vegetables.......

"Vegetarian Sausage" : Does not compute.

This also sounds like a conversation that would happen in my house

And, I hate to say it, but the George Foreman grill rocks! We were very reluctant to get one. We finally did, only 6 or 7 months ago, and now I'm kicking myself for not getting one years ago. Sure, it fails miserably at some things, but others, it does a remarkably good job with.

I love this cookbook with all my heart:

OK, out here on the west coast, there are a couple restaurants in the L.A. area called Good Earth... They serve all kinds of really good food, including high quality meat... However, my favorite dish there has always been the Planet Burger, which is some kind of bean based patty with munster cheese and some sprouts and pickles on a whole wheat bun... Man, is it good... I prefer it to a hamburger, and it sits well in my gut... Even their fries are baked...

I'm going to order the book that Dr. Flamencology posted...

I have had a black bean burger that was very tasty... not the same as a burger, but was good on it's own merits.

One time I was at a big party at a friends house and in an effort to be a Jimmy James (a helper) I offered to do the grilling. Somebody brought vegetarian hot dogs and I thought they were regular dogs until they fucking melted.

Exactly... The one I'm speaking of has black beans, as well as other kinds of beans... It doesn't taste anything like a burger, and doesn't try to, so it tastes great... Most of those frozen meatless patties and dogs have a bunch of flavoring in them to try and make them taste like beef, and they end up tasting terrible...

Speaking of stomach problems I basically have to go home, change clothes and load my shit out because we've got a 6:30 rehearsal so I won't have time to eat so I think I'm going to hit White Castle because they are easy to eat while driving.
