So I am tooling down this backwoods mountain road today.

Not flying, but enjoying the car.

I look in the rearview mirror, and was like "Whoah! I need to pull over!"

My wife looks at me and says "What is it? A cop?"

I say "Nope, a Ferrari and a Mercedes!"

These guys came up behind me from out of NOWHERE. (and I was probably doing 55 in a 35.)

I sped up a little, and we stopped at this antique store so my wife could shop for a bit.

About 20 minutes later, I stopped at the little store down the street, and there they were!

They were outside eating lunch on the picnic tables, I said "Hey, we don't see too many of those in East Wakefield. Mind if I take a picture?"

They said sure, so here you go.

There's a couple of hundred thousand dollars in automobiles right there....EACH!

Wow, that is pretty awesome. A damn rare sight in rural NH. Love that 458.

Yeah, I for sure did a double-take when I looked in my rear-view mirror.
I was moving right along if you know what I'm saying....wasn't expecting to see anyone, let alone that!

I remember thinking:

Where did this guy come from? Whooooooah............look at that! Wow! Wait...what is that behind him? What kind of Merc is that? WOW!

Love love LOVE the Ferrari...not a fan of the Merc, don't like the cockpit position...

...wouldn't turn down either if one were to hand me the keys...

I was surprised at how big the Merc was.

I've never seen one except for on TV before.

It is a BIG car.
The Ferrari is actually smaller than you would think, but what a beautiful automobile.......stunning.

Not sure how I managed to cut the fronts off both cars taking the pictures......stupid camera phone.

That's a pretty good pair right there. Not very often you're gonna see a set like that just out and about.

That Merc really is huge. I see those and Bentley GT's driving around here all the time, buncha filthy rich bastards that live down the road in Rancho Santa Fe and Del Mar that cruise into town to shop at the thrift stores...

My only complaint with the Mercedes would be the Frisbee sized emblem on the front grill. Kind of tacky, really......

When we were leaving from the store, the guy had just put the top down, I should have snapped a pic of that, but didn't want to appear too much in awe, lol.....

The Merc was actually kind of dirty, but seeing as it had Quebec plates, I'll assume he had driven it a couple of hundred miles at that point, so it gets a pass......

The Ferrari, as you can see, was immaculate. Not even so much as a spec of dust on it.

Not sure what makes a Mercedes a "Black" edition, but this Merc had black trim, black emblems (except for the gigantic grill emblem), black everything. AMG, SLS, 6.3 were all in black. The car was really "none more black". Looks like an absolute beast with that long hood.....Can you imagine just.......

I dreamed about those cars last night.

As you can see, it was an absolutely beautiful day for driving. The foliage is just starting to change (next week will be prime), but man...not a cloud in the sky, a nice low 60's temperature.....'twas a good day for a drive!

I'm not up on all the differences between MB AMGs but I don't think that's the AMG Black...from an appearance perspective, they have more aggressive bodywork/ground effects than the 'regular' $200K+ SLS AMG.

Oh, well ......fuck that thing then......

Most of the AMG "Black" Edition cars are in fact... not black.

Go figure.
