shoulder issues ***Updated, 1st post***

well, going into town today to see the Doc.
shoulder has been bugging me for a while now.
last week we filled 5 semi-trailers each with 1200 50lb bags
half of which you have to lift over your head.

I'm sure that's the root of the problem.

so, last night, it got so bad that I couldn't raise my arm properly.
there's still some mobility, but nowhere near 100%
more like 40%, if that.

so no work for me for a while, I guess.
good thing gf's getting lots of hours.

right shoulder, btw.
so at least I can still play.
just can't pretend I'm Pete Townsend, if ya get my drift.

hoping this won't require surgery, but I'm betting it will.
I'm about due for some bad luck...:embarrassed:

[/rant]

UPDATE:

well, it's tendonitis in the rotator cuff.
so it'll go away, but keep coming back.
this seals my leaving the mill, since that was the cause of it.

no worries over lost job, I just don't like being unable to use my arm properly.

You are probably right that the mill job wouldnt allow it enough rest to get better but dont worry, it will get better. As long as you can give it enough rest and do the proper exercises, it doesnt necessarily come back at all. I played a lot of baseball and have had that tendinitis so I know the pain. I currently have a torn labrum which is some fairly important cartilage in the shoulder which is AWESOME.

You can use bands and very light weights to do the exercises for the rotator cuff.

Sucks not having a job though. Can you do it long enough to find another?

Johnny, the gf and I are looking to buy a local restaurant here in town.
no commuting would be nice.
plus, going by their books, we'd increase our yearly income by about 25K.
(I make pisspoor money for what I do)

we find out more on the 5th, so I'm hoping that works out.

if not, we're not really in any cash-panic.

the main reason I was working was mostly for my own spending cash...the gf makes more than enough for both of us.

and she actually owes me several grand, so I can always say she's paying me back:wink:

Colar bone mended after 6 years

Hi Peeker,
Saw this thread and wondered about you. All I can say is the human body is quite amazing the things that heel even after we give up hope of it. Example? yea, my left sholder which was clavical-broken in a car accident in 2004. Well just this past summer I noticed it's mended. I've been careful with it the last month or so just hoping I don't re-break it - and wow, it never did get a mend-on more that a day or 2 hear and there before, then a snap. So looks like some prayrs got answered again... and again... and ... you get the idea. Keep hope no matter what:thu:

I always do, bud.

otherwise they'd have found me hanging by my neck in my fucking closet long before now:wink:

It is definitely a good thing not to have to worry too much about the income for now. Good luck on the restaurant.

And do the shoulder exercises. It really will help. Do they have you going to physical therapy or just on your own?

nothing yet.
doc says rest it up for 5 days or so, and if it's still bothering me, come back and see him.
it's better today than it was yesterday.
not tons, but I can tell the difference.

so that's a good thing, I'd imagine.

I didn't mean to give you the cold shoulder as I'm just late to the thread. (see what i did there?)

Hope you heal fast
