It's been a long time coming, but Perseverance lands on Mars today. In a meaningless space geek milestone, my name will be on another planet by days end. I have my signature orbiting earth on a number of satellites, but this is a first. All the boarding passes made the trip.

I'm thinking they won't let me transfer the miles from Atlas to Delta, unfortunately. If it had launched on a Delta IV flight I would have upgrades for life.

For anyone wondering about the 7 minutes thing, it takes 11 minutes for data transfer, and only 7 minutes for the landing process. Meaning that the entire landing will be blind and completely computer controlled from the orbiter.
