Mojo Request RIP Jack

OMG, I saw the headline and hoped it was a different Jack. Much mojo Mark, to you, your wife, and your kids especially. I hope they're dealing with it as well as can be expected. Dogs bring so much unconditional love into the family that it is always a huge blow when they pass away, especially unexpectedly. Their biggest fault is that their lifespan is only about 10-15 years at best.

I saw this on FB and Im stunned. I had to come to the forum to express how sorry I am. Many of us remember when you guys got him. It was so obvious how much you guys all love each other. I know I never said it but I always enjoyed the pics youd post of him.

Im so sorry for you and the family.

I saw and commented on Facebook already but Major Mojo to you and your family Mark. I know how devastating such a loss is. He was clearly a very special dog and loved, and loved by, your family

My condolences to you, your wife and children

My family send condolences to yours. Losing a pet is not easy. They are not children, but they are family and their role in the family is magnified when you have children.

I commented on FB earlier as well.

Just wanted to tell you that I'm still sad this evening. Any of us with a pet have been through it. It's the hardest thing, when they go.

But on the other side remember that you did a good turn by Jack, and he paid it back a hundredfold. I've never had a dog, but if I did, I'd want a Jack.

As I said on Facebook, I am so sorry this happened. He was one of a kind from what I could see. All I can offer is my sincere thoughts and prayers in this time of loss.

Perhaps a little humor is welcomed here.
I believe Ziggy dog knows of Jack's passing because he just launched a two fart salute of the most horrendous dog gas I have ever suffered.

I posted my shock and sympathy on Facebook, but this really is "Jack's Place", so I will say it here as well. RIP Jack, thank you for the many smiles you brought to me when they were in short supply elsewhere. You will be missed.

I hope I'm not over stepping boundaries and it's not too early...

I'm generally concerned

Why? How?? What happened?

How old was Jack???

I don't do Facebook stuff...

Jack was 11 years old. We had him form8.

Apparently he had a mass growing on his spleen that ruptured last night. One moment he's normal and the next he couldn't breathe against the fluid buildup in his body. My wife brought him to the emergency vet clinic and I walked off my gig and met them there. By the time I got there they had done X-rays and explained that surgery would get jack 3-4 weeks of misery and then most like he would still not make it so we made the decision then. One of the hardest things I've ever had to do in my life. Our household is devastated.

The vet and a few friends I have who are vet techs explained that this sort of thing is not uncommon and that they agreed with our decision. He would have had much misery and our children would have watched him change from the dog they loved to a sick and miserable animal and I did not want that for him or them.

Ah...The joys of having, (I use the word 'having' loosely), pets.. I also use the word 'pets' loosely because in most ways WE are their pets too..

I've been there too.. Lost a few beloved 'pets' over the years..It's not cool..

I have no idea why I have two cats now that mean the world to me and at times are major pains in my ass and cost me major dough..

When I wake up in the morning and they are on opposite sides of me purring in my face as my children used to do but are grown and gone and no longer doing the same...I know why I look after them so well..They deserve it..

All the best to you Mark and all the best to you guys in this tough time....
