Reliced?

$750.00. If it weren't a "relic" it wouldn't sell for $30.00.

you should be able to find one in your nearest Guitar Center. it doesn't really look reliced. it looks like a bad, fake paint job. they're weird.

Yeah. They look really phony. I don't get why they would make these. It's a very niche market who's gonna be a committed Strummerphile and be the sort of person who'll wanna own a rather expensive souvenir like this. Considering Joe's own tele was a standard-issue tele beat to hell, refinished with god knows what god knows how many times, and covered in stickers and whathaveyou... You'd be more Strummer-esque buying a Xaviere tele and modding/abusing it for 30-odd years.

i think it's there to make the Highway One, Roadworn, and the higher priced relics look better. set the bar low so that people buy the other stuff that only fake looking when you really examine it. oh hai Flamencology.

I LOVE Joe Strummer. I mean, I LOVE the guy. I am a huge Clash fan.

I would not own one of those and I find their existance abhorrent.

I have to admit that there's a 'relic' in a local shop that kind of has me wanting it.

:embarrassed:

It's a Japanese Fernandes. It costs $250.

If I got it, it would probably be sanded and refinished before anybody here knew I'd bought it. :embarrassed:

My 2001 Dodge Stratus is 'Road Worn'....it should be worth more money then, aye?

Local guitar store has one of those. It does play nice but geez...that has "I'm a tool" written all over it.

This is more than just a road-worn reply. I just clicked the function here so I could log in. The way this computer looks the Mark Wein logo covers the home page log-in functions. So this input is slightly userous, which certainly fits the theme of building "tribute" and "road-worn" guitars.

I like Willie Nelson, playing his songs and getting into some nice leads. And while I still wonder why Jimi Hendrix never got a lefty going, some serious wonderment, I wonder about Willie's guitar strap every time I see it. And we're talking about some seriously worn instruments.

as always, John Watt
