PRS DGT.....se???....

There was talk of that on the REVV live stream last night.

It was a PRS show.

I’m somewhat intrigued. I really would prefer one sans birds though.

It looks like to me the gold one that Dave is playing near the end has dots (or moons).
 
Yeah, they DGT is one of maybe handful of guitars that is exponentially above my abilities to deserve to own that I'd love to have...meaning the U.S.-built version.
Depending on the price, an SE might just scratch that itch. I'm also interested in when they release a maple-boarded SE Silver Sky...there's a part in the vid where the folks in the Cort plant are holding maple-boarded necks with the lined-birds...
 
I love my DGT. It’s like a Les Paul and a Strat had a perfect love child.

Phil, the know your gear guy has a vid and he says the Gold Top has dots/moons for $849, the Burst version has birds for $899. He also said that he heard PRS is doing a big NAMM drop this year...lots of stuff coming.

If that’s the case, then it only increases the amount of drool for the DGT SE…I have a SS SE, and it’s my favorite Strat ever.
 
The DGT has probably my favorite PRS neck profile. It's narrower than their standard wide-fat neck :baimun:
 
So the goldtop they show in the video has moons @dodgechargerfan

I would probably go with the figured model with the birds that will likely be in part 3.... but I'm also pretty geeked that it looks like the neck is mahogany, not maple like 99% of the SEs have.


... as long as the price doesn't get goofy. When the SE Paul's guitar was a grand, I was thinking "Really?... you can get an American Made s2 for a few bones more." :baimun:
 
Yeah, got no need and can't justify it, but I want that gold top.

It's funny how little artist aspect of artist models generally mean to me. I've no real interest in John Mayer, but the SS SE is tempting and a maple boarded version would pique my interest even further.

I LOVE David, one of my favorite players, but it's the spec of the guitar that most interests me. I would still like that guitar if it was a regular model or something worked up w/ a different artist.

My only complaint related to the SE guitars, is that they should all come w/ locking tuners...WITHOUT any cost increase.
 
From what Rob Chapman said about spec-ing Chapman guitars, the actual cost to add just about any feature from the Cort factory was negligible. I don't want to drop $850 minimum on a guitar and then have to drop another $100 plus on a feature that could (should) already be on the guitar without it really increasing the price of manufacturing the guitar for PRS.

That said, I know that with the quality of the higher-end SE instruments things like locking tuners, such features blur the lines between these and S2 offerings. They don't want the SE guitars to cannibalize sales of US models.
