The Custom 24 is the original PRS…the guitar Paul Reed Smith took to his first tradeshow in 1985. A perennial favorite with musicians, this model features your choice of a Pattern Thin or Pattern Regular mahogany neck (with a rosewood neck option) and your choice of 57/08 or HFS treble and Vintage bass pickups wired for our redesigned 5-way blade switch, which offers a dual humbucker option for the first time (see switching positions below).
HFS treble and Vintage bass pickups were first offered in the 1990’s and helped to define the sound of the time by providing a balance of aggressive, musical, clear highs and strong midrange and bass. In 2008, we introduced 57/08 pickups, which were designed to capture a vintage ‘50’s humbucking tone. The Custom 24 is now offered with your choice of pickups so you can better tailor your tone.

I really like that, and I'm not a huge fan of blue guitars, though I don't hate 'em.

I agree with CBHScott that I'd want pickup covers on it.

Way too much bling for me. It is a beautiful guitar, just nothing I would have any interest in ever owning.

For all you can say about not liking PRS. (I know that there are people out there who don't)

They make pretty guitars.

Everything, and I mean everything, about that is hot. If I had the extra money, I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

I actually wouldn't like it as much with chrome or cream pickups. I think the black shakes it up just a bit.
