I just got word earlier this week that my workshop proposal, Counseling For Medication Assisted Recovery, was accepted for this fall's Cape Cod Symposium on Addictive Disorders. This is a hot topic, as many old-school addiction professionals complain that the medical field is taking over addiction treatment. The workshop explores ways of building relationships with prescribers and accepting that medication can be a part of the recovery process.

Even better, I just uploaded the manuscript of my new book on that topic to Create Space today so I'll have a related book to sell at the conference.

congrats!
sounds like a good deal for ya.

however, we've just booked you to be the tour therapist for Judas Priest, so K.K. Downing can go on this new tour.
hope ya don't mind...:embarrassed:

Well, that gig would probably pay better than CCSAD.

I wonder if the tour therapist gets groupies.

What's that dear? No I'm just talking about therapy here. :embarrassed:

Living After Midnight will never be the same:wink:

When I was in high school, our garage band used to do various covers of rock songs, but in three part harmony folk music style, such as You Shook Me All Night Long, Come On Feel The Noise, and other various tunes from that era... This would have been right up our alley!

I'd like to add that I really like the word "symposium"
it's fun.

I think that is just to show that we know words like "symposium". There is actually a West Coast Symposium on Addictive Disorders in LaQuinta, CA that I was hoping todo so I could try to hook up with Mark, Oscar, and other Left Coasters.

The other neat thing is that the wife comes along for the weekend. She chills out, hits the shops and the beach while I'm in workshops. We then have time for some meals together and other fun activities. Since the hotel costs no more for the two of us than one, it is tax-deductible. By the end of the weekend I have my yearly allotment of Continuing Ed credits and have met more people who work in my field. A true win-win situation.
