Overused little sayings

"perfect storm".....I see this constantly now especially since the pandemic "it was a perfect storm"....fuck off :mad:
 
yea, that's one of those terms that is useful to describe an event that is like once in a generation or even more.

another that irritates me is "going forward"....like you can GO backwards, dumbass.
 
My least favorite work saying these days is 'top of mind....' which recently replaced talking about your north star but we should table this conversation so we can muster our efforts around this radical transformation of our product offering

i use that ^^ all the time, to tell myself "get over it, you can't do anything about it now". mostly said kind of under my breath, shaking my head and trying not to get full on pissed off.....which only works part of the time

the one i use CONSTANTLY to myself at work is "fucking assholes" and soometimes the modified version "fucking assholes, cocksuckers" like say i need to get to a certain part on a car and the idiotic engineers did something to make it extra inconvenient then "assholes, cocksuckers"

"fucking asshole" comes out of my mouth about 1000 times a day. about every 30 seconds when i'm driving. we have some of the worst asshole aggressive drivers in this area. one of my coworkers moved here (and grew up there) from Chicago, and after about a month here he even said "these are the worst asshole drivers i've ever seen". :facepalm:

"it is what it is" is useful when you've got to deal with someone who would rather complain about non-negotiables than get anything done. On the flip side, it's infuriating to hear when it's in defense of an arbitrary or actively malicious decision by higher ups.

I've been using "Forget about it Jake, it's Chinatown." Unfortunately, half my coworkers have no clue as to the reference.
