My drummer in the original band bought a drumset. Now we can gig. Finally.

You may be asking yourself, "wait, how is he the drummer if he doesn't own a drumset? How do you guys practice?" NYC has a bunch of by-the-hour rehearsal spaces that provide amps, PA, and drums. The only time you actually need a kit is for gigs. And not even all gigs. But it's good to have a full set because you never know what the backline will be.

He's never owned a kit, so this is perfect for $500. He'll never need anything else. The best part, he's storing it at my apartment. I can't play it at home either. But at least I'll know what he has and what might need to be upgraded.

Andy's not gonna be happy though.

They work some, but not enough for apartment living. I'd have to buy a Whisper Room in order to play drums in an apartment. And that's definitely not going to happen.

They're on the other side of the wall and floor. And already deal with my guitar, bass, and keyboard playing. Drums might get me evicted.

that's what i said. he wasn't so big on it, but knows absolutely nothing about drums or what they cost. he thought he could cheap his way out of it. I'm glad he actually spent the money and got something decent. It's not the greatest, but it'll do.

Glad to hear your drummer finally got his own kit. That Export kit looks nice, and being a workhorse kit, it should handle gigging quite well. He'll find that room acoustics will affect the sound of his drums more than the brand name.

Got it yesterday. Cymbals are just ok, but that's a minor issue in this case. Simply having "just ok" cymbals is a coup. Wife kinda freaked when she saw how big the bass drum is, but that'll pass once it's stored properly.
