One off custom build in transit

thought I would try and post here to see if the forum is still slow/unresponsive (smilies do it every time, even now as I type)

purchased only two guitars this year: Momose MES1 (ES 335 type) that looks a lot like JD Simo's 1962 'Red' and a one off hand built Korina Explorer that is currently sitting in US Customs

will this work or will I have to give up? LOL. I have already received 6 error messages since attempting to create this thread so, I guess not a lot has changed here?

Rarely if ever have any errors or slow loading issues. It must be on your end

per this thread from way back when .......
https://markweinguitarlessons.com/forums/threads/who-does-the-technical-stuff-here.97003/
I don't have a single issue with any other web site; only this one.
I believe at one time Mark stated that the server is a 'shared' server and that this could possibly account for the issues (LOL, just receive a java script error when typing this reply) but again; this place is anomalous for such strange issues.

Nice Explorer. Who built it?

builder is an 'unknown' Japanese luthier; seller lists guitars on YJ typically with these two items posted in the listing titles.
(1) Hand made
(2) Extra thick neck

neck thickness at fret 1 on this one is a reported 25 mm aka .984" = huge '58 plus type neck

guitar also has appointments very similar to this 58/63 Explorer in a May 2, 2022 Guitar Player article.

I’ve been posting here since 2009 and have more posts than everyone but maybe 5 people and have never gotten a Java script error, or any other kind of issues with it. Unless there was a db crash, but those have been few and far between.

58/63 Explorer replica arrived today (BIG ****ing grin) !!!
Upon unpacking the guitar there was a MASSIVE smell of nitro lacquer filling up my little house (I love the smell of nitro lacquer).
Shipped from Japan with no case and no gig bag, and no damage. I am very lucky.
Neck thickness was listed as 25mm and it could be 1 inch; possibly thicker. This has to be the biggest neck on any electric I have ever played. Love it.

Is that a long tenon extending an inch or so past the neck pickup route?

I got a very spectacular piece of wood for one of my upcoming builds…

Instead of hiding the long tenon, I’m going to “inlay” a piece of the top wood from the end of the fingerboard to the bridge pickup. That way you’ll see the edges of the rosewood neck blank running right down to the sides of the bridge pickup cavity.

I think there is something inherently cool sounding about the bridge mounted in the body wood, and the body wood connected to the neck tenon, but this bad boy is going to be engineered to be STRONG. :helper:
