Actually, Appetite and the Illusion twins are some of my favorite rock music.

Yeah, me too. Especially Appetite. I think the Illusion albums could have been condensed into one great album.

Yes, i agree. I have to sorta pick and choose when i listen to them. But lawdy, Slash did some tasty work on those two. Parts of those are nearly a religious expericance. AOK

When they first came out, I was less than blown away.

However, after a few listens, I really started enjoying a lot of both albums.

To this day Breakdown is one of my favorite songs ever.

Lots of people dont agree with me, but i actually really dug the unplugged stuff on "lies".

That version of "you're crazy" is some great driving music.

I should add that even though I've never been much of a fan of Axl's voice, I do like some of the GnR stuff from that period. Slash's solo in Sweet Child o' Mine is among my favourite rock lead guitar moments.

Yep, thats just about as perfectly constructed as a solo gets. Builds beautifully, kicks in overdrive at just the right time, i still love that solo.

(maybe the metropolitans can cover that one in feb. biggrin I'd like to see Mark tear that one up)

I'm not Mark, but we'll probably play it tonight. If I sing it worth a shit, and the recording actually works, I'll post it. :embarrassed:
