This one always grabs me. Or if I ran across one just like it. In the dark green.

The 1968 Mustang hero car Steve McQueen drove in the movie Bullitt was just shown to the world for the first time in almost 40 years! It was revealed to the public along with the new @Ford Mustang Bullitt at the @naiasdetroit in Detroit in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the iconic movie.

The “Bullitt Mustang” hero car (VIN # 8R02S125559) is owned by Sean Kiernan whose father purchased it in 1974 from a New Jersey police detective. After being used as his parent’s family car for a number of years, the Mustang went in to storage in approximately 1980 and has not been seen by more than a handful of people until today!

The HVA has been hard at work documenting it for the National Historic Vehicle Register (it is the 21st vehicle to be added) and putting together a documentary film on its history - Little Pieces: The Untold Story of the Bullitt Mustang. Photos: Historic Vehicle Association

Story seems sketchy for such a well known car but who knows. But yeah, Mustangs of that era always get me. My first car was a 69 Mustang. Not even a great one but I loved that thing.

I also had a beat-up 69 Mustang when I was a teenager...white fastback 351W. It was everything to me.

In high school, a buddy's older brother had a 69' fastback that his dad fully restored, it was killer.

Mine had a stock 302 and was rough when I got it. I did some sub-par body work and painted it. Found some old pictures recently of it. Brought back some fantastic memories.
