As it says in the title, what are some of the special/indulgent/gourmet food/drink items have you bought recently?

I have bought:

- French dried pork salami with Roquefort. OH MY GOD, soft chewy and unbelievably rich. If you like dried pork sausage and blue cheese, it's a MUST

- Gourmet truffle crisps

Again, SO rich tasting and couldn't stop eating before bag was finished

Blood sausage and crème anglaise.

Probably some others, but I can’t think of anything off the top of my head. Have travelled a lot this month, so lots of restaurant dining.

fancy pants seasonal green chile gin (it's got poblanos, jalapenos, and hatch green chiles)

I also made some sourdough panettone a week ago (way out of season, but I've decided I don't care)

My wife bought some weird Coca Cola thing that's apparently designed to be mixed with rum.

Had one with some Dark Matter and it was pretty weird. Not bad but you'd need to be in the mood to enjoy it and I really wasn't in the mood.

Can't think of anything else. She found a new butchers near her work and brought home some pretty underwhelming Stornoway black pudding

You bought creme anglaise? I figured you for a homemade guy. That stuff is easy to do at home man come on!
In all seriousness where did you buy it? I'm curious now.

I usually do, but it’s been a crazy month with lots of travel, and the kids love it on waffles along with orange marmalade.

Just picked up a couple of jars at the local (Canadian) grocery store, which has a section of UK imports.

I've never seen commercially available creme anglais

not sure if it's gourmet or not but definitely Non Standard for me....bought two burritos from Taco Bell recently. Montezuma had his revenge on me....might've lost 5 lbs all in all.

I've been getting a lot of those stroopwafel mcflurries, which are apparently run of the mill in the op's parts but are a delicacy here.

I miss those, as I haven’t lived in Holland for 20 years. Freshly made on the market with warm melty syrup

Do golden Oreos count?

I didn’t buy them though, one of my fellow inmates, I mean jurors, brought them. They are okay but I still like the originals better.
