yea....they're a little neck heavy. get a rough out leather strap. [idea]

It isn’t really neck heavy like an SG, it’s more that it feels shifted to the right a bit. Like when you go to fret a F chord, your hand goes above the nut. It’s almost feels like playing with a capo on the first fret.

what guitar do you normally play?
i know when i pick up my LP after months of playing my strats, it seems a bit 'short'. [laughs]

I think it’s more the location of the strap button. Shorter upper horn puts pulls the guitar one way.
so.....relocate the strap button to the back of the guitar, down near the neck joint....like a Flying V??

That’s where a SG has it and it’s where I first noticed the issue. Like I said, it only took a day to get used to it, so it’s not really an issue now. It’s something I’d notice when I would occasionally pickup an SG. I think this is the 3 Gibson I’ve ever owned

So, I played one of these today, and it KILLS. Love the neck profile, and the tone control for the bridge pickup has a nice range without completely choking the pickup when it’s rolled off.

Thanks for the GAS. :annoyed:

I really like the finish on the ‘worn’ or ‘faded’ or whatever Gibson is calling it. The glossy necks is one of the reasons this is only my third Gibson.

Looks like the LP is staying. I replaced the tuners with my standard Hip Shot locking tuners. They fit perfectly and feel so much better. Just a more solid tuner than the cheap Gibson white plastic ones. Also oiled the fretboard while the strings were off.

Congrats! Chad do you know if it might have a "swimming pool" route under the guard? If so, folks like myself or CBHScott could mod it to a Special (second pickup) fairly easily.

I'm a fan of doublecuts (3: Hamer Special, LP Special, LP Studio) and P-90s (4 Specials, a WildKat and a Casino), so obviously I approve!
