So a long while back (2007) I bought the FSR Palo Escrito Telecaster --- basically a 60s MIM tele with a sweet wood grain top ... Palo Escrito wood. I got GAS and sold it.
... and regretted the sale. They are scarce as hen's teeth.
A week or so again, I spotted one on eBay. The seller wanted almost $900. HA! not THAT scarce.
Anyhow ... he lowered the price mid auction. I contacted him and suggested an even lower price that he agreed to. He lowered the auction price and I hit it like a trout on a shrimp.
Great seller ... he threw in a Peavy hard case. The guitar is dead mint ... still has the plastic on the pickguard. The top is gorgeous. The sound is pure telecaster in every position.
The pots need swapping ... the volume and tone taper kicks in pretty quickly from the full on position. That is my ONLY nit. ... Eventually I will swap for brass compensated saddles, but I do that with all my teles.
