NGD - Wildkat

HNGD!

And bigsbys are cool on the right guitars. I liked the one on my reverend when I had it.

This is hot! I got this Sheraton II at GC on sale for $445 w/case. No bigsby.View attachment 19431[ATT

Those bouncy boobs seem to have a nice beat going, which reminds me of bongos, which reminds me of tablas, which reminds me of 'Black Mountain Side' from Led Zeppelin's debut album and how many times I've sat down to work that whole song out only to get distracted and end up on the internet looking at pictures of naked women.

Ah the disturbing dreaded disasterous distraction diversion dilemma.

Very nice :thu:

Didn't realize how heavy those guitars are even for a hollow body

I believe they are technically "chambered" solids. The body looks like it starts with a solid slab of mahogany they route out, then cap the top. Heavier than a hollow or semi-hollow, but lighter than a Les Paul. Nice middle-ground IMHO.

My LP Studio Plus is chambered and much lighter then the Wildcat surprisingly.

Doesn't surprise me. I believe Gibson has been going for the "weight relieved" crowd with their chambered LP's while the Wildkat appears designed to be a fast automated build, maintaining as much of the Gretsch semi-hollow vibe as possible. Much faster to have a CNC machine route a slab of mahogany than creating and assembling the various bits for a hollow or semi.

The fun part is that the Electromatic's are not heavy at all. I don't own one but have considered a Pro Jet had a project come to life. I have come very close to getting a used 6122 twice but backed away realizing that my application was limited.
