This orange Dearmond M66 followed me home. I got it for a dirt cheap price because it needed some work. I'm really surprised by how well this plays for a bolt on import. It rivals my set neck guitars.

The pickups on this thing are really good sounding. Bright yet warm. It's very different sounding from my other guitars.
 
NICE! I have a DeArmond and would love to be able to finally know which model I have; I think mine is an M72 or M75. Someone on The Forum That Shall Not Be Named once was kind enough to figure out for me but I've forgotten. If anyone knows how to figure out which model a DeArmond is, please post it. Mine's a set neck that looks an awful lot like your new baby.

They're fantastic players. Mine must have a 12"+ radius - very flat and fast. I'm not really sure if they're supposed to be an affordable take on a Gretsch, but via my Egnater Rebel 30 or an older Blues Deluxe, it sure sounds like it. Ellen's right, they're real sleepers. Enjoy!

Post a pic! Here's an M-75. They also came with a bigsby-style tremelo (M-75t). If it's an M75 it will have the goldfoil pickups (see second pic) They are very good players -- I was just never able to get the sort of LP tones I wanted out of it and ended up trading it.

There are two models of humbuckers that are unique to DeArmond -- the DeArmo-Tron and the GoldTone.

The USA-made DeArmond GoldTone pickups deliver one of the best humbucker sounds ever. Unlike Gibby humbuckers, these are balanced, clear, and 3D sounding without the mud. GoldTones only came in M-7* models.

The less expensive DeArmonds (certain M-6* models) got the Asian-made DeArmo-Tron humbucker.

Yeah. I got the DeArmo-Trons. But they are very good. I'd like to get a set of Gold Tones for it.

The Jet Star also came with Goldtones.
