Gary Blanchard

beloved, local musician
The UPS man arrived about a half-hour before we left for NEFFA on Friday. I quickly opened the box to check out he Luna Oracle Dolphin six-string. I bought this one used. The strings were really dead. So I hung it on the wall and hit the road. When I got in tonight, I threw a new set of stings on it. I had bought three sets of the Martin Lifespan SP stings; I don't think I like them. The guitar, however, sounds nice and I think will be better with another type of string. The real test was plugging it in. Boy does that thing have power. I had to turn the volume down on the PA and the guitar. I like my guitar a bit on the bassy side and this sure delivered. I think I'll have a lot of fun with this. As soon as I get a chance I'll take a picture or two.

One thing I noticed was how substantial this felt, much more so than my Art and Lutherie.

Do my ears deceive me? Blanchard got a DOLPHIN guitar? Dude.... you must bring that to Pragestock. :helper:

Sorry - I ONLY buy Dolphin free guitars....:snooty:

Kidding...(well - in one sense since I don't own any dolphin guitars). Congrats!

Pics or it's a Squier.

I am expecting the 12-string on Wednesday :thu: so I will take a family portrait then. Here is the EBay pic in the interim:

I already talked about bringing it if I go.

I will add that I picked it up again last night before I went to bed and the strings must have settled a bit. It sounded wonderful unplugged. :thu: I am already working on a couple of new songs inspired by the look, sound, and feel of this guitar.

Very cool, Gary...you should write a new song called "The Porpoises Ate My Soul"...a much more "Family-friendly" subject matter than the previous suggestion, don't you think?

Oh, yeah...:nv:
