New Pickup Truck Day!

Nice... I've been wanting a pickup more and more. I just borrowed my dad's last weekend and it was nice throwing a ton of shit in the bed, and 2man has one in which to haul a fishing boat... they are very handy. Just expensive and inefficient.

Yeah, my old F150 could suck down the fuel. That's partly why I went with the smaller one this time.

Nice. My dad has one of those. He seems to really like it, and he was always an F150 kind of guy.

I was, too. Unfortunately, parking one of those is a bitch in town and with the cap, forget about a parking garage. I noticed tonight, though, that it sits about the same height as an F150.

HNPTD That's nothing like you were looking at. Getting a cap?

Yeah, I was looking at everything that might haul a wheelchair. This won out on a combination of things.
I like that my cargo isn't in the cab with me in case of a crash. A 400 pound wheelchair in a van (even tied down) can become quite the missile in an accident. It has plenty of space for hauling, not too high off the ground and I got a fairly good deal on it.
Cap? Yes, likely one that sits 3" taller than the cab. I'm also considering a commercial model with full doors.

Well, it drives nice. It's a truck, so there's a bit of bounciness in the back end but its quiet! Even with the all terrain tires, it's quieter than the F150 was. It has a lot more sound deadening material in it.
It's gonna take me a few days to get back into driving a manual but the clutch is easy and the shifter is nice and tight. Feels good going through the gears.
The four cylinder is definitely no race horse but the power is adequate. I will likely do some performance mods later like intake, exhaust, etc. A transmission cooler and oil cooler will be the first accessories after the cap, though. Those two things can greatly extend the life of an engine here in the southland.

My dad has an automatic with the V6 (for light towing). His favorite accessory is the bed extender thing. He doesn't have a cap. I've borrowed his truck a few times, and the extender is really good for long stuff.

Those are excellent for the long loads.
My main thing is I gotta have headroom! 42" rear door clearance is really my minimum and I need a cover to keep things out of the elements (and the hands of thieves.)

This is a Leer 180 cap.

I've had a few...
Mustang GT
Escort GT
VW Golf
Alfa Romeo Milano
Honda Civic

As rare as they are now, I didn't think another would ever come my way. I'm kinda stoked about it.

Nice! 5 speeds are awesome! I had a 5 speed 1990 4Runner. It way outperformed my buddy's automatic on trips we took. Better mileage, and more fun.

Cool! I love 5 speed! Just last summer I switched over to automatic in well over 10 years.
I really need/want another truck, they are so handy!

Nice truck! The last thing I had with a 5 speed manual was a 69 camaro with a 454 and a Doug Nash 5 speed....that thing FLEW!

Here is my 2007 it has less than 40K on it.

Here is one of me racing my 100mph+ GoKart, me in my street stock and the bottom is me dropping low in turn 3-4 and passing the 4R car in my limited late model.
