Dig it! New old SG day

So this happened today. It's a 70-75 Gibson SG Standard. Mostly original. The tailpiece is aluminum so I'm not sure if that is. I also had to replace the pickguard and back plate screws. Pickups are Gibson Tarbacks. Also, there was a headstock break at one time. That's to be expected for a 50 year old Gibson. Not sure if I'm keeping it yet. If the price is right, I may sell it. But guitars like this don't come around too often at prices that I can afford.

Just checked the pots again. It's a 73. Also spent about 10 minutes playing it. That guitar is something special. I'll sell a LP Tribute or three to offset the cost. I'm keeping this one.

IIRC '73 was the last year for the 'lightweight' tail on the SGs so that's quite possibly original

I played this guitar at rehearsal today. How good is it? I'm considering selling ALL of my brand name solid bodies, including the Heritages, and keeping this, my Heritage Millennium, my Heritage H-535, and my parts Teles and Strats. I'm smitten. This is a great guitar.
