Your Worst Nightmare
I was running errands this afternoon and decided to stop by one of the local guitar shops, Rock Block Guitars. I have been GASing for one of those EP Boosters ever since the thread a few weeks back about them, and I wanted to see if they had one. Well, they didn't but they did have a used BB Preamp, so I thought I'd give it a whirl. I told the owner, who was helping me out, I'd like to try it through something with humbuckers. So he grabbed a used PRS McCarty off the rack and plugged me into a Marshall Bluesbreaker reissue.
I really liked the pedal. It is versatile and has some great sounds in it. But I REALLY fell hard for the McCarty. Another 15 minutes later, I convinced him to through in the preamp pedal and some strings, and out the door I went.
It sounds great, obviously. The neck feels amazing. And I thought it must have been strung with 9s because they were just so slinky. Then I put some 10s on, and they still feel really loose. Maybe I'll eventually go up to 11s.
