Teachers strikes arent a problem for me. I installed a mod to take care of the money issues. Traffic is still a major nightmare though in any city over 50,000, as are abandoned buildings.

I had a whole region going once that had over a million, talk about a headache. It sure looked cool though in the center of the commercial section.
 
I lloovee first person shooters. I've played Doom 3, Counter Strike: Source, Half life 1, (I'll be playing 2 pretty soon) and Unreal Tournament among several. I would've bought Bioshock for 10 (assuming my Mom would let me :facepalm:) for 10 bucks but it's back to 20 apparently.

I love the atmosphere in Bioshock. The characters themselves are SLIGHTLY too cartoon-ish, but I love the overall mood and the art deco design. The plasmid concept is cool but I felt not executed perfectly. I've only played the demo though, so maybe they really become more usable as the game progresses.

Overall I love the idea and the atmosphere, it is one I have been wanting to play through, but not being an FPS guy I have been waiting till it's cheap. 10 is cheap enough :embarrassed:

I just picked up a late b'day gift (got cash from the 'rents). Tiger Woods PGA '08. DOWNLOADABLE from EA for $9.95. Took 25 minutes to get the whole game at 1.2 MB/sec. Now I've gotta divide my time between that, job hunting and this place (probably 20:60:20).

Nah. THey were OK, but typical FPS games do nothing for me. Theyre fun for a few minutes, trying out the weapons, etc. HL2 was a beautiful game, had a decent atmosphere, etc. Again, I have only played the demo and "The Lost Coast" level, but after a while it just gets old, same thing over and over.

Crysis is fun because you have different options. If I want to pick up a tire, put it in strength mode and maul a guy that way, I can do that rather than shoot him. It's fun. Breaks the monotony of the endless gunfire. Adds a new aspect. I really enjoy it.

We all need to d/l war rock. I have been saying this for a long time. I will even pay to host the room. It would be a complete blast to open fire on each other.

Agreed. And seriously...how much difference could there be between '08 and '09? I don't need state-of-the-art if I can save myself $30 or $40.

It also helps to have the uber-fast 'net connection to download this stuff rather than pay Best Buy price.

Yeah, I dont think there is much difference. I wont pay more than 30 bucks for a game as a general rule. I have made 3 exceptions. Gran Turismo 2 and Tomb Raider 3 for the playstation, and GTA4 for the PC. I couldnt wait to get my hands on those.

Now, I will wait till a game goes down in price. I would make an exception in certain situations. And yeah, steam ftw. they have good deals on it sometimes.
 
Steam has good prices and games, but I despise how they run their system and it always seems to have some kinda problem with it.

I've played part of the first Tomb Raider and got kinda bored with it. I'll solve it eventually though. Were the other ones good?

Weird, steam runs flawlessly for me. I've never heard of any problems with it. Re: tomb raider, IMO they got better as they progressed. 3 was really cool.
 
Might just be me and my Dad who always have the problems *shrug*
I might have to pick up TR. Of course, there is always the mom-probobly-wont-let-me factor.

I've played Bioshock all the way thru twice now. The plasmids are definitely useful, it just depends on which ones you like. "Charm Big Daddy" and "Telekinesis" are great. Great plot twists, too.
