I've always had a softspot for the Nighthawk - I wonder what the five-way switch does? Anyway - looks pretty good to me - at $530 w/hard case.

A musician famous in the 1970s and 1980s has a signature guitar from 1993. Seems like they didn’t put a lot of thought into this.

Nancy was one of the first (and probably only) people playing the Nighthawks in the 90s. She had a Gibson Sig version a few years ago.

Goddammit! The more I think about it, the more I want one! I just unloaded five guitars, and now have nothing with a P90 or HB.

I owned the 3 pickup version for a while in the 90s. Sold it to fund some expenses when I got married.
It was a really nice guitar with a million tones in it, but I never really bonded with it. I found myself preferring to play an Epi LP Custom even though it didn’t sound as good.

I've just never been a fan of the look of the Nighthawk. Add to that the fact that I despise 3-tone bursts and I'll have to take a hard pass on this one.

It's pretty cool.

Does the body have different contours than a LP? It looks sharper.

Its been 20 yrs, but to me the body felt smaller than an LP and the neck seemed longer. It's 25.5" scale vs the LP's 24.75". It didn't neck dive tho. Wasn't overly heavy. Contours are definitely more extreme than an LP. Also the top is flat vs carved.
Mine had the strat middle pickup and some nice flame on the top, with a cherry burst.

I love the look of black Nighthawks, and would kinda like to have one to use primarily for bottleneck-playing.

But then... fuck Gibson.
