I’ve always liked these ever since I tried one in GC when they first came out. I almost bought a CR60 version a few years back before Mrs Pine surprised me with the Carr Rambler, but it’s this 35w w 10” that I first tried and was kinda smitten with.
Last night cleaning out my emails I saw they were now marked down to around $260 everywhere and thought WTH, I like those and I can afford it. So even tho I need another amp like a hole in the head it’s on it’s way.
I think it’s gonna pair well with my old Vintage Club 20w -10” for an almost practical & portable wet/dry rig.

I have an Orange Crush 35rt for... 2 and an half years.
It's got some cool sounds. From what I tweaked: the dirty channel has most of its sounds when the gain is between about 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock. Under that it's clean-ish breakup, above it's sludge (not a bad thing necessarily).
The cleans are warm, but with my SG it seems that even with the mids and treble at max and bass at min it's still hardly bright, I can hear it clearer since I got my Marshall (G 80 rcd) back about a year ago (maybe I got used to the Marshall's open back cab).
 
It showed up yesterday. No surprises really. Sounds exactly as I thought it would. Some people were saying the clean channel wasn't loud enough, but there's plenty of vol on tap on either channel. This morning I set it up with my wet/dry board with my Crate VC 2110r(1-10" combo 18w el84s) which was the main impetus for getting the thing, to have another smallish amp with a 10" to pair with it. I ran the wet stuff thru the Orange. and it handled it very well, very nice stereoish modulation. I found a setting on the crunch channel with a just right mild crunch and dialed in the Crate to pretty much match it. Plugged in my Pro Jet with the T-Armonds. This pretty much eliminated the need for any kind of always on drive pedal, and both amps still responded well to the guitar vol knob. I did like how the Dyno Brain acted tho, I dialed back the brain's bass cut a bit to compensate for the 10s, and it added its characteristic clarity to the situation. Kick on the Fluid Drive with everything about noon and I had a nice additional gain stage. Im running a Soul Food after the Fluid Drive set with more gain(around 2-3oclock) with the tone control a bit darker. Kick that on and your up to about as much gain as anybody could need unless you play modern metal.

Overall, Im very pleased. On its own it makes a fine little lightweight grab n go. For a super minimal set up its all you need to get most any kind of tone gain wise. About all you might really need to add is a delay pedal. Of course being solid state there's no tube sag, so for a blues jam Id grag the VC and the El Pescadoro instead, that still gives me what I think is a perfect old school blues sound.
Paired with the VC I have me a very nice little mid pushed in your face Brit sounding rig. Totally different from the more bassy and lush Fendery sounds of the Carr Rambler and the Bassman.
 
Where did you here claims that the clean channel isn't loud enough?
I don't think I've ever cranked the clean volume past 9 o'clock.

Seriously. I’ve never heard a complaint that Orange amps aren’t loud enough. Wata has used a Tiny Terror on stage and it can somehow keep up with her Matamp GT120!

Sometimes people confuse "loud" with "cuts". Especially when many Orange amps don't have mid controls on the clean.


I absolutely loooooooved the gain sound of the Rockerverbs that I had... thick, meaty, sustained for days.... but that was when I played it alone or was the only guitar player. When I used it with the band and the other guitarist had a smaller wattage vox, his amp was still slicing through past the keys and drums.

That was when I ended up making the switch to the Mesa Recto 25 with the EL84 power section. I was hesitant originally because other EL84 mesas didn't have the bottom end grunt of the 6L6 and EL34 amps, but this had the perfect combo of Mesa tone and versatility with enough "Marshall-ness" to cut through the din.
 
This one has a mid control on both channels. And there's mids for days. I haven't put it thru its paces with a band but I cant imagine it not cutting. Maybe so if you have the gain channel really cranked but there seems to be plenty of headroom otherwise.
