Yeah my bad, it was drumsticks.
My wife is usually really picky about food on the bone but she's enjoyed all of this stuff. First time I spatchcocked a chicken on Saturday. We ended up eating at 10pm because we'd stayed longer in the pub than planned but it was super easy and quick plus with just the 2 of us, it's plenty of food
It would have been my grans 97th birthday yesterday so I had the family round for a BBQ.
Pulled pork, chicken shawarma, burgers (had sausages but never got round to making them) apple slaw, balsamic veggies and salt and chilli potato wedges and lots of sides and nibbles.
Absolutely amazing. The ghetto rotisserie was a pos so the chicken took a lot longer than planned and I was afraid it would overcook on the outside but it turned out great. No photos of the pork cooking as it took all day Saturday and wasn't taken off until around 1:30

Bought a bunch of good quality supermarket sausages earlier in the week.
Reverse seared them in batches twice this week. So easy and they turn out great
Wednesday I did them pretty straightforward with some toppings.
Tonight (bottom pic) I did a Tom Kerridge recipe for curried bratwurst style. I messed up the buns tonight (they were drenched in garlic curry butter and I should have left them indirect side to slowly toast but they were so moist I put them right on the low hot grates so they burnt a little, still great.
Wednesday I did the sausages much lower and you can see how small they are in the same buns. We don't do sausages often but next time I'll definitely doing them hotter and faster.

That's me finished up with work until mid August so I'm planning on doing A LOT of bbq-ing over the next 6 weeks.
I've got beef short ribs for tonight (Wagyu allegedly but they're from Aldi so....) I've done them once before but I didn't nail the temperature or time, this time I've got a better grasp of what I've to do so I'm looking forward to it.
Our management team buy each other a gift for the end of term, my pal who loves firing up the BBQ but is very much a burgers and sausages type bought me Jamie Oliver's recent BBQ book. Between that and the other few books I've got I'm going to make a little schedule and try to hit one a day or at least 4-5 per week depending on my plans.

I'm usually not a fan of farm shops as they all sell the same overpriced crap that Mrs jbj likes to spend a fortune on and a lot of their produce is shipped in. There is however a great one near Perth we happened to be passing by yesterday. Great fresh stuff all from the farm and ones next to it. We're eating good this week!
