Man pleads guilty to theft after trying to sell stolen guitars at Portland shop
PORTLAND, Ore. – A man pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of aggravated theft after police said he tried to sell some stolen guitars at the Guitar Center in North Portland.
Officers were called out on the night of Tuesday, January 30, 2018 on reports that someone was trying to sell stolen guitars to the Guitar Center in North Portland. During the investigation they found out someone had stolen $40,000 worth of stuff – including several guitars – from a storage unit in Portland.
Employees pointed out the man involved in the theft to officers, who was later identified as Vincent Eshleman, of Vancouver. He ran off when police approached him, but a K-9 team managed to take him into custody.
Police said they recovered several guitars and other property during a traffic stop. The driver was detained but later released.
On Wednesday, Eshleman pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree aggravated theft. His sentencing is scheduled for October 26.

Unfortunately, he'll prob get nearly zero time but it's great to finally hear about a guitar thief getting busted.
