After way too long, made the trip to Austin to visit Central Market. Which for you non-Texans is an amazing wonderland of high-end and foodie delights. Just the mushroom section alone is worth the trip, I kid you not.

But I didn’t get any shrooms. I did get some NY strips to grill tonight. An armload of cheese. Some ibérico ham. And one of my favorite California cabs, which isn’t always available. The price has gone up - this is close to the most I’ve ever paid for a bottle of wine - $99.99.

Those Spanish hams will rack up a grocery bill real quick. But they are soooooo good.

Nice. That is my favorite thing around the holidays....unchecked food purchases. It has only gotten worse since I moved to Europe.

After losing 90% of our freezer items during the Wonderful Christmas Fridge Meltdown of '21, we'll be shopping tonight.

I have never spent that much on a bottle of wine, but I have come close to that on a bottle of single malt.
According to XE, just over 200 dollars is my record for a single malt.

My wine guy cases of prosecco for £35 and red, white and rose fir £20 and it's all pretty drinkable to my pallate.
