Mojo Request "informal job chat"

Poor old Geordie's array...
Which last time round I found out actually translates as - a proper, actual formal interview

It's for an internal secondment tracking this and that and things that wouldn't interest or mean anything to you guys but it fits in nicely with the Masters I'm studying.

On paper I'm probably the best suited in the leet plus it's quite a decent jump in dough :thu:

I'm betting that "internal secondment tracking" is meaningless jargon to most here - at least, it is to me! But hey - good luck!

Is ‘secondment’ a word only used in academia?

Since joining an education institution, I hear it all the time.
Whereas I had never heard it before.

In my context, it seems to mean, “I need you to go do this job or work on the project for a while. Then come back and do your job.”

No, I'm in the engineering and project management services field and we use it pretty frequently.

And good luck!

mojo, but English please. No 'leets' in 'Murica (so much so that my auto-spelling correction made me type it 3 times, but didn't bawk at murica)

Long story short the job entails making sure a tonne of extra gov't funding is a. Spent appropriately and B. Makes an impact.

Not very sexy but the increment will get me at least one other nice holiday this year

Government funding for schools?

That's socialism and makes the baby jesus weep. We know how against free schooling, health care, and free lunches he was!

The post is paid for via said funding

They did away with free lunches for staff ages ago though

Well that's me done. Hours spent revising NIF priorities and collegiate leadership as per the job spec, then they ask totally random questions!

A woman I REALLY don't like is also in for it

Bend over and take it like a man cop0

Well she got it.

Within half an hour of being informed of this I was updating some records directly related to what she'll be doing and discovered a HUGE - to the point it makes the data she's collected meaningless - mistake in her records.
