If it was up to you to hire someone to step into his musical, vocal, and songwriting shoes, who do you think would have been up to the job, and how likely would they have been to accept it?
This brings me to another question: is there any other group where the fanbase overwhelmingly despises one of the core members of the band with such vitriol? I know bands where 'the new guy' isn't liked, but Mike Love is and was a key founder, lyricist, and central to the band. And we hate him.

He does make it easy...This brings me to another question: is there any other group where the fanbase overwhelmingly despises one of the core members of the band with such vitriol? Now that's blue sky thinking! I like it! Would never have considered Muff Winwood, much less a collab with Ms. Coltrane. I will be pondering that one for a while.
Would they be up to snuff when it comes to playing 'that old granny shit', or would The Beatles have to lose that significant aspect of their music?
