I'm at another Blue Oyster Cult show.

i didn't know santa fe got all that much snow. please tell......i was thinking of moving there.....some day......welll.......maybe 12-15 miles south of town.

I've never seen them but would like to...


I've spent thousands so that my family members,and myself,could watch some of my musical hero's..

Santa Fe gets quite a bit more snow than Albuquerque does. Matter of fact you can ski in Santa Fe. Still, it's nothing like the East Coast. There was eight inches of snow at my house this morning but most of it had melted away by the afternoon.

It really only snows just enough to make everything look pretty (and make the roads hellish to drive).
 
Then came the last days of FebruaryTotally_jammin_out

I'm beginning to think Buck is immortal, he's 60 something now, doesn't look a day over 40 and plays like a god.
 
I saw them as recently as last Halloween and they killed. I've never seen a bad show.
 
This particular show was really weird: Buck Dharma was stranded at the Denver airport.

An unusual BOC show. Supposed to be with April Wine but they are stuck in Dallas, weather related cancellation. Then Buck texts me, he's stuck in Denver, same problem. We land in Albuquerque ok. And figure out a 4 piece set. Not the same of course but we survived with Kasim singing Burning for the first time and Richie picking up a few tunes. A unique evening. Plus Andy Ascolese on drums.

Not having Buck there was unfortunate, but what were they supposed to do? The alternative was to not play at all. But they went on anyway as a four-piece and quite honestly it was a rocking show. Richie Castellano is a BEAST and his solo last night on "The Last Days of May" is on the very short list of the greatest performances I've ever seen, no exaggeration.

So... was it Blue Oyster Cult? No. Was it a monster band? YES.

That's actually kinda cool, talk about a rare BOC show!

Did they jam things out a bit?
 
It was close to 90 minutes. But they've really stretched out some of the songs over the years anyway. Buck and Richie are both freakshows and the extended jam thing works great.

Well Richie can certainly hold his own. Still, Buck is the man and always will be.

My how that song has changed over the last 44 years
