I tried that new sauce today

As I mentioned in a rant thread on Friday, some friends from Texas sent me a couple new sauces. One I had been anxious to try was "Salvation Sauce" (yeah, yeah. I thought it was pretty cool actually, had a big cross on the bottle and a mini bible attached) which was a habanero, serrano and garlic sauce.

Was a bit watery considering all the seeds in it (usually the ones with seeds are pretty thick) but was EXCELLENT. Not much heat, really, but the habs and serranos were obvious. Not a sauce that would lend itself well to a traditional tex/mex dish, but excellent nonetheless. I had mine with chicken and cheese burritos today and I very much enjoyed it. I did take pics but just havent uploaded them yet.

Excellent sauce. AOK

Sounds delicious delicious.

I'm going to have to re-stock my supply. I'm down to my last bottle.

Have you ever tried one called Endorphin Rush? It's pretty wicked if you want to try something super hot.

I shall travel over there immediately and check it out.
not too exciting....just offered to get some here locally and play sauce exchange....

And I seconded that it sounds like a good idea and I'd participate. I'll have to look into any regulations at the border but I can't see there being any either way.

We should merge the food section into this place. I usually forget it's there but there is some good stuff over there.

The only thing I like about having the food forum separate is that its easy to find all of the food stuff (and the recipes) in one place. I could always move the forums around so that the food board is next to this one, though...

I musta missed that one.

I really need to find a specialty shop around here with some choices of hot sauces.

That's some tasty stuff.

At this year's "Weekend of Fire" at Jungle Jim's, I spent some time at the DefCon booth. I complained to them that no one had hurt me. I tried the DefCon 1, and it was hot, but didn't hurt me....so the dude pulled a vial out of his pocket and gave me a taste of their extract on a toothpick.

That did the trick.

All i can say is, if that made you sweat, then it would probably put me sobbing in the fetal position. :embarrassed:

It was just a tiny drop of stuff on a toothpick - it was HOT. With a capital HOT.

Yeah, if it was just pure extract........I shudder at the thought. Nothing needs to be hotter than a hab.

I think it was extract based, and an additive rather than a sauce, but I don't think it was pure - that'd be too much for me.
