Closer inspection last night did reveal a problem on the top. Where the body has moved has caused the stud holding the stop tail stud to pull downward. The stud is now sticking up above the top a bit.
I think I'll go ahead and send it in. Sigh.
I'm just scared to death they offer me a Dot or something in exchange. That would not be cool.
The Wildkat is the same body, but it has dogears and a Bigsby. The ES175 is really the closest thing they offer now.
Maybe I'll get lucky and they still have an Alleykat around. Doubtful, as they haven't been made for four years now. Sigh.

you should see if they will give you one of these. It could be the coolest guitar ever.![]()
, sorry, I couldn't post that with a straight face.
I dig the WildKat though.

take the wildkat and change the pickups.
Maybe they will let you keep the pickups out of the Alleykat so you can drop them in the new one???
damn, that 's a shame, she's a beaut, too.
too bad ya can't snag a FlameKat for it.
then you could send it to me.
hope they do right right by ya, bud.
I still want this guitar very very badly.![]()
Double minis FTW!

Been monitoring and measuring the Kat pretty closely. The tailpiece stud is now showing above the top and I'm starting to measure some warp to go with the fold. It's not stabilizing.
Called customer service and the RA is issued.
Was told that it is highly unlikely any more Alleykats are around and, given the price of the guitar, a repair is not gonna happen.
I will have to choose something from current inventory.
The missus votes for a Wildkat royale.
EG
They still have the Alleykat on the wesite, it does say discontinued, but maybe there is hope.
I really like the Wildkat and the Emperor Swingster. I don't really like the white/gold of the royale thought.
I'm torn about the royalles. I like unusual, but I'm afraid it's gonna look like a trailer park white falcon in person.
