Mojo Request I don't think I'm cool anymore

Poor old Geordie's array...
Ditched my wife's work ball on Saturday night because the DJ was pretty bland and kept doing that annoying - this tune is by A and up next we have a great little hit by B. 1. you're not on the radio, 2. there's 500 people in the room and every fecking one of them knows this is the Village People you're playing - you don't need to inform us.

But I digress. We hit up this indie pub / club I practically lived in when I was a student - legit 1st name terms with all the staff, extra shots in our cocktail jugs, free pool and so on back in the day.

Admittedly I was wearing a suit and she was in a dress so we weren't really fitting the profile but the 2nd bouncer looks us up and down and says - "uh, y know it's a bit of a young crowd we've got in tonight."

I'm 33 mate, I'm not going to pull out a sudoko book...

"Yeah but it's just, y know, this is a studenty indie place..."

I've spent more hours in this bar than I want to admit - I know what the place is like, we just want to come in and listen to some decent music and have some drinks.

He turns to the head bouncer who comes over:

"You don't seem drunk so uh yeah I suppose you can come in, but it IS £5 entry tonight..."

fucking hell mate, unlike everyone in there, we're not students and actually have money to spend on your decent booze, I think we can manage the cover charge!

We spent the next 2 hours dancing along to the stuff they used to play there 10 years ago with all these non-ironic hipster douches who were buying gut rot cheap gin  :embarrassed:

I did use my student discount to buy some skechers and levi 501s on Sunday - they're still hip and cool aren't they?

I think Skechers turned into shoes for people who grew up in the 90s and now need soft soles because they work on their feet, like nurses.

Skechers are still.

Levi's are not. In fact, Levi's 'are not' to the degree that they established such a fall from cool that other things that fall from the cool graces in such a manner are said to have suffered the Levi's effect. When everyone's parents started wearing Levi's, they were deemed no longer cool.

Facebook suffered the Levi's effect.

Are you sure? They had some hipster music on in the shop and the staff all had shitty tattoos and facial piercings

Now that I think about it I have no idea what brand of jeans cool kids wear now. I just buy myself Wranglers at Target.

33? You’re still at the invincible era. No way should you be looked down upon for another 6 years. Maybe you have a 40 yr old outlook. I’m sure that’s it. You need to maintain your immaturity, then you’ll not only be shown in, you’ll be treated like a cool guy, what with that bit of gray and the facial lines.

The only reason I bought Levi's is because the jeans they're replacing were knock off 501s.

Cost something like £15 for 3 pairs in a market in Istanbul in 2010 and that's them just ready for the bin. I don't think I've ever had real Levi's last that long
