Um. No. I mean, I met him in passing once and he was a nice dude. I know folks who recorded with him and worked with him and were generally in his orbit and he—despite being an irascible loudmouth which is kind of a Chicago scene thing—was regarded as a good guy who was pretty unpretentious when it came down to brass tacks. Helped a lot of people make music in an uncompromising way and was pretty generous with his time and talent.
He liked playing poker and cooking fussy recipes and saying mean things about the bloated and silly music biz.
