I have been a member of the Harmony Central Musician Community Forums since the days when Scott Lehman ran the forum. When Musician's Friend purchased the forum many of us were skeptical but a great number of us rode it out. Sadly, the botched handling of the latest Harmony Central "2.0" update has been the final straw for many long-time members of the boards. Many of us have already moved on to other forums, but I wanted to let you know that I will not and cannot support any business who has done such a shoddy job of managing one of the biggest musical assets on the internet. For months now there have been many opportunities to work with the members and develop an updated version of a long-running and well-thought out user board, but it seems that most of the suggestions and objections were brushed aside and the monstrosity that now takes it's place is nigh unusable, but it sure does have a lot of newly available space for advertisements! Too bad that it is so fully lacking in content that there's a good chance that traffic will drop off to record lows immediately.

I will no longer do business with your company, nor will I recommend you to my colleagues or my students. Please remove my name from your mailing list.

think about it. you're only worth $100 to them. and really, at cost, you're only worth $50 to them. fuck that. they can keep their $50 and shove it up their collective asses.

I tell you, my mum taught me when I was back in elementary school that writing letters and giving people feedback (positive or negative) doesn't take much time and can have surprising results. I've been contacted by politicians, customer service people, been on the news... I even have letters from George HW Bush and Bill Clinton from when I wrote them.

I would use the $100 credit, then go on to no longer buy from them.

That is better than the time I complained to the company that does the Weight Watcher Smart Ones frozen dinners. They have meat products even in stuff like potatoes and broccoli with cheese sauce. I stated that it would be nice if the vegetable dinners were actually vegetarian. They wrote back that they are not in the business of making vegetarian meals. They also sent me coupons for free Smart Ones meals; the very damned things I can't eat because they contain meat products. :facepalm: :annoyed: messedup0

I bet the credit is determined by how much you buy from them. I doubt some guy who bought a couple packs of strings is going to get a $100 credit. I've pretty much been boycotting them for years after they fucked me over on a baritone guitar. I buy my stuff from American Musical Supply and I buy strings from www.juststring.com

I've purchased three things from them in the past two years and the second experience was so bad that I told them I doubted I would ever try them again, but I appreciated their effort. I'm a Sweetwater guy, but lately AudioMIDI.com has been doing a fantastic job with my recording needs. From MF I bought two Gibson stools from the SDOTD and an M-Audio keyboard... so about $400. I spent that every three months or so at Sweetwater.
 
Kerouac, you're not worth $100 to them. You're worth $1000. So, you can send me that $100 certificate, and I'll write Carolyn a nice letter stating that they need to send you another $900 before they can even think about smelling your dick.
