Hockey fans - thoughts on the playoffs?

I liked the first goal...always follow your shot. It was certainly an exclamation point for Keith's MVP resume.

Congrats to the Hawks (and you CBHScott). Though I am now unsure of what to watch Wed night with no more hockey :(

They were both great scores. I agree that the first one was a classic example of good fundamentals and discipline. As soon as he scored that goal, I was pointing out to my 10 year old son that is the reason coaches tell him to follow up on shots in soccer.

Go Bruins!

...

Too soon?
Never again would be too soon

Now that the word is out on the injuries I wonder if they helped or hurt themselves by playing. Bishop did not seem to be that badly effected and certainly played well enough to win both games after he was hurt. Johnson on the other hand was a non factor the whole series though I have no idea who would have replaced him

Don Cherry went on a Twitter rampage about his issues with Stamkos' ice time and other ways that TB used Stamkos poorly. I shook my head a little but also agreed as I find myself doing with a lot of Cherry's points of view.

Now that's a frightening thought, next thing you'll be agreeing with his wardrobe choices

:embarrassed:hmy:

Only on the collars!!

Amazing results to be champions for 3 of 6 seasons. It may be the closest thing that we get to seeing stuff like the late '70s Canadiens, early '80s Islanders or late '80s Oilers again.

Unless the Kings win next year (which has been the trend)

But I agree, post salary cap there is unlikely to be the collection of talent that can stay together long enough. Tampa might be the closest since a lot of their young guys are signed for a while I think.

He wasn't 'all that' but he was on the Bruins who were ALL down and have been an offensively muted team for years. I think he will kill it in L.A.

Hell has frozen over; hextall unloaded prongers contract ( and grossman) to AZ, got a center worth trading in the process and had a great draft!

Since Bettman is all about having franchises that lose money, I'm sure he nudged that deal along.

Hextall looks like a genius.....or AZ's GM looks like a bufoon.
Maybe a little bit of both.

Now if only the Flyers could get rid of about 6 other mediocre at best players with inflated contracts, Philly could get right back into it.

I've said it before, but there are like 3 or 4 players that I wouldn't trade off of Philly. EVERYONE else is subject to trading/unloading. I'd even unload them for picks in next year's draft. Just to get their salary off the books.

I'd say he was a genius if he could have thrown Lecavalier in on that deal. AZ needs the contract to help hit the cap floor. It's like almost 5 mil even though his actual salary is like $500,000. It opens up needed cap space for the Flyers so it's a win win. Grossman is another 3.5 mil for AZ.
