:thu: I did the same thing to my Ibanez super strat thing... I figure it's for metal, so what good is a tone circuit, anyways!
 
Yeah I actually amputating a tone capacitor and stuff inside soon. All my guitars are modded bend belief lol. There's a story to each one
 
Hello. I have no strats, but my son, who is your age, has one. It's black with a rosewood board. Pretty nice, but I can't stand trem equipped guitars. :eek:

That's how I always felt, but now that I have a Floyd Rose trem equipped guitar, I kind of dig it... There is a definite sound that it gets from the springs, and the damn thing stays in tune great... And, it has forced me to not root my palm on the bridge, which is making my playing more accurate...

I have 3 Strats (and a couple Strat-shaped non-Strats): a MIJ '80s Squier w/ 2 buckers and a Floyd, a Blacktop, and a USA Standard. I'm fixing to unload the Standard, though.

Well, when I first got it, I played it for several days with the volume knob in the normal spot, and I was able to deal with it... The thing is, I still didn't like it... I never do volume swells with the knob, so I have no reason for it to be there... It's new location is optimal for my taste, and a major improvement, to me... If I ever get a regular strat, and want the traditional wiring, I'll definitely use a concentric pot for the tone controls, and locate the volume knob in the middle spot...
