Hi from South Korea

Thngs are going well so far. I am keeping to New York hours (tied to the Nielsen schedule) so I'm going to work at 10PM and leaving at 7AM local time, then sleeping all day, which is kind of throwing me off.

It's pretty lonely here, being this far from my apartment, my bed, my guitars... heh. But it's also really cool being on-site for an Olympics.

It's cold here but actually not that much colder than it is in Stamford.

Yesterday we did the Super Bowl and that was a whole big thing. We did really well on digital streaming (which is my area) so that's good.

The Korean people are very nice and I have already learned how to say hello and thank you. And the country is just plain beautiful.

I'll try to post some pics later tonight! If anyone is interested.

That was a very articulate, well-phrased, informative post.

Now, where is the real Smurfco and what have you done to him?

Cool! Hope you get a chance to enjoy yourself between working. I'm sure you will. Maybe come home with a nice Korean guitar....or a nice Korean girl....or both.

:embarrassed:

Here's a quick video shot off my hotel room balcony.

Awesome. How far are you from the village? Looks like you're out in the country, or maybe that's just the backside of the hotel. In any case, we'll all tune in tomorrow night and try to find you in Sector B, Row 14. :thu:

There are two clusters - the mountain cluster (PyeongChang - where I am) has all the skiing, luge, bobsled, etc. events. The coastal cluster (in Gangneyong (sp?)) has the Olympic stadium and the indoor sports like figure skating, hockey, etc. I think it's about 30 minutes away, I haven't been down there yet.

Right now I'm in the International Broadcast Centre (IBC). It's an enormous warehouse type building that houses all of the broadcast companies doing the Olympics from around the world. It's right next to the really tall tower for the ski jump stuff so if you see that on TV I'm just across the street.

I almost knocked Lester Holt over getting off the hotel elevator this morning :embarrassed: He seems really nice. So far everybody seems really nice.

Sure...everyone's nice until the norovirus kicks in.

Seriously though, wash your hands...a lot.
