Here;s a company that shows so little class that I won't be buying anything from them

Isn't this the company that did a full-on PR attack on some teenaged kid a couple of years ago? One way or another, I can't say I've heard anything good about them. . .

I guess they really subscribe to the "Any press is good press" mantra.

(note use of quotation marks. However, in this case, I believe they are warranted. "What" do you "think"? :lol:)

Yep it is, he was threatening beat beat up teenagers last year. Im not sure how they are still in business, or if they even our a real business. Fuck them in their goat head faces.

Wow, pretty tasteless thing to post. Funny, he was a hack, but you can order cabs from them with salt and pepper or checkerboard marshall style grill cloth. I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion, but decorum would dictate not posting it the day the guy died.

Maybe Marshall based his early designs on old RCA stuff, I have no idea, but he managed to make that into an iconic company that made a ton of great amps. Never heard of that asshat cabinet company, and probably never will again. One could argue they are simply ripping off the high end fancy wood custom mesa cabinets that have been out for decades.

Lots of people modified old RCA circuits. People still do. But that alone doesn't make you a legend. If it did, Emperor Cabs should start doing that, since it seems no one with a taste for tone uses their current gear...

IIRC the early Marshall amps were based off off Fender Bassmans. But Dumbles and Boogies also started life as modified Fender circuits too. I've also heard but cannot find proof online that the earliest Fender amplifiers were based off of simple amplifier circuits that GE or RCA gave away with their tubes to encourage people to find more uses for their products. That might be BS though.
 
How many people would have heard of this company with out their ridiculous facebook posts?

I have read somewhere that Leo's first amps were modified RCA circuits, I bet Howie knows. You are correct about Marshalls and Boogies all starting as modified Fenders. IIRC, Marshall was a bassman (Like you said) and Boogie was a Princeton.
 
Never heard of them. What do they do? Make cabinets for amps? They look good, but can see they're gonna get scratched the hell up in no time. Anyway, I'd take a Marshall head over a wooden cabinet any day.

I mean an amplifier circuit is a fucking amplifier circuit. In a far enough way, they're all modeled after one another and have grown and developed as the years (and technology) has. It's like cars and saying company X is shit because they just modeled their car after company Y. Of course there will be similarities, but the point is in the small differences, the ability to fill niches with your modifications, the ability to grow and adapt with time, and the ability to sell a quality product.

In short, that complaint is just simple minded to start with.
 
I hope they show up here to chastise us and use a "lot of" quotation marks "to make their" points. :embarrassed:
 
the comment thread on their facebook page got pretty heated. just stupid from a PR point of view.
 
Yes, Leo's tweed amps were pretty much lifted from RCA, but they were open source designs. It's not like he did anything shady.

As to the OP, pissing on ANYONE's grave is just uncool.
