Under the big price there should be a smaller price that is cost/sqft. That's the only number that matters

Kinda, except that some paper towels are thicker and more absorbant than others.

I like that a bunch of paper towel manufacturers are now perforating their product into "half sheets;" That's often enough to do the job.

I have no idea how that is counted in the 8/12 mega roll comparison.

If that's the case, then what's the price matter? Buy what you like. We buy Cottonelle tp because we like it, despite the price. Really the price difference of a couple of dollars for a 12 pack that will last a couple of weeks is a drop in the bucket compared to what some people spend on coffee, or beer, or whatever. My liquid consumption "budget" eclipses our tp budget nearly 10-fold

Agreed. I generally leave paper goods purchasing decisions to the wifey cuz I just don't care.

Except for the one time she brought home a mega pack of paper towels printed with terrible kitchen quips like:

"Messes Happen!"

"Soups on!"

"Wine about it"

and so forth.

I suffered a terrible round of ball busting when I took a roll of those camping with the bros the following weekend.

I'm unsure of whether or not they were mega rolls, but they certainly seemed to last forever.
