Dig it! HD500 Clips

Your Worst Nightmare
Here is my HD500 going into a Black Lion Audio Preamp straight into my iMac via an Audiofire 16 interface.

I still need some work on my demo video skills, but at least I'm getting a little better.

Just getting to the end of it. I'm really tempted to check this out for my cover gig.

It's what I'm using now. At $500, it was about 1/4 the price of my traditional pedal board. Then there's the benefit of carrying only a 13-lb board versus a 60-lb board and amp. As I mentioned in the other thread, the whole band was ooohing and aaaahing over the whole first rehearsal. The real trick IMO is to hook it up to your computer while setting it up, so you can use the slick interface. Then run it into some stage monitors and spend a few days dialing in everything, ensuring consistent volume and EQ. I say a few days because you need to overcome the ear fatigue.

We just started doing the Beastie Boys' Sabotage, and I was able to do a pretty good mimic of the turntables using Whammy effect (Line 6 calls it Pitch glide) and the Smart Harmony. It took a while for me to get it right, though.

I'm really leery of going this direction but it makes sense for the current gig I'm in. We do all styles of music....what are you currently using for a monitor?

I was leery, too. But it's only $500. No small sum, but you could return it within 30 days or, at least, recover $400 of it on CL if you decided to sell it later.

I got a pair of JBL PRX612Ms. But your Mackies would work really well, too. My first inclination was to use a guitar cab, but that really didn't work nearly as well as the powered monitors IMO.

I've been reading the Line 6 forums, and it seems folks are really happy with whatever they get their hands on. A bunch of guys swear by those cheap Kustom powered speakers.

:embarrassed:

I really like it . But to be honest, I still haven't told a few of my friends here in Nashville that I've gone this way. :embarrassed: It's seriously like blasphemy to some people.

Like that fat girl thats fun to hang out with but you don't want your friends seeing you with?

Another benefit is that it has done wonders for my pedal GAS. We'll see whether that lasts, though.
